CHANDIGARH: With application forms for admission in Class XI for government schools already submitted, students are now looking forward to the next step of admission process –– merit list –– that will be flashed on internet on June 27.
The education department has received applications from students, and they are busy preparing merit list of candidates for first counselling, which will be displayed on www.chdeducation.gov.in.
Helpline numbers have also been provided to facilitate students in admission process where principals and lecturers would try solve their problems.
“I got more than 100 phone calls on my mobile. Most of them inquired about the process of admission and what they should do after submitting forms,” said Neeta Shekhon, principal of GMSSS Sector 37. She also added that most of them asked whether they will be selected in first counselling or not.
“As the submission process of admission forms for first counselling has finished, students have started calling up to ask about what they should do now,” said Dr Preeti Garg, lecturer at GMSSS, Sector 10.
“I am eagerly waiting for the date when merit list will be put on internet and finally, I can know which school I am going to join,” said Shalini Mehta, a resident of Sector 11.
“Though I have got very good CGPA (8.9), I am still not sure if I will get admission in school of my choice or not,” said Ashmit Sharma a resident of Sector 16.
“I have come here in GMSSS, Sector 40, to inquire about the next step of admission process for my son as we didn’t know what to do after submitting forms,” said Baljit Singh from Baltana.
